The text Proofed with great precision according to the edition of the GRI Kapakh. Very precise and polished edition based on high quality and reliable Yemenite manuscripts (now clear of errata, the influences of Christian censorship and various “corrections” based on speculation). Passages have been partially punctuated and diacritics only introduced in verses and passages where the reading could have been ambiguous. All abbreviations have been spelled out in full.
The Design Elegant and entire in a single accessible volume. Chapters can be surveyed in a single glance.
Segmentation of Halachot The Halachot are segmented according to their original division by the Rambam (short and easy to grasp). All Halachot clearly begin in a new paragraph. The Vilna edition numbering has also been retained for ease of reference.
Alternative Text Versions The present edition comprises all of the leading precise edition that have been published to date. Only significant alternative versions (approximately one per chapter) have been marked on the margins of the Halacha, according to quality editions based on the Rabbi Rabinovits Simple Manuscript (marked as é), the precise Rabbi Shilat Rambam edition, with comments (marked as ù), manuscripts included in the Fraenkel edition and the Machon Mamreh edition (marked as ë), alternative text versions in the Rabbi Kapach edition (marked as ÷) and the Och manuscript (marked as à). We have also noted the versions of the first and second agreed editions (marked as îä"÷ and îä"á) respectively. Also added are version comments based on the Responsa of the Rambam and his descendants (Rabbi Avraham son of the Rambam has been marked as ø"à, Rabbi Yehushua the Naggid, has been marked as ø"é äðâéã). Various printed versions have been marked with ã).
Illustrations All illustrations have been artistically redrawn in strict adherence to the originals. All Torah verses have been re-written by skilled scribes, in strict adherence to the original.
Verses All Torah verses have been punctuated and diacritics added according to the Massoratic text. All references to verses have been marked, as well as any deviations from the Massoratic text, and the variations arising from quotations (sometimes combining a number of verses).
