Mishneh Torah - The Book
Mishneh Torah is the great summary of the entire corpus of Jewish Oral Law. This expansive masterpiece comprises 14 books (in Hebrew “YAD” – hence the traditional alias given the book “HAYAD HAKHAZAKA” – the strong hand).
Mishneh Torah is the ultimate masterpiece of the Jewish mind, the likes of which have not been seen before it or after it. It is perfection itself, both in the range of subjects covered, the perfect order, the clear language and the precision of its formulations.
This is the Rambam’s greatest creation, a book that encompasses both Halacha and philosophy, spanning past, present and future. Over the hundreds of years since its writing, the book has given rise to an enormous literature of commentary and has become canonized as one of the mainstays of Halachic determination.
The printed version of the Mishneh Torah that was available before our own edition, suffered greatly from both Christian censorship and various “corrections” that were introduced over the years.
Now, for the first time, the book’s 1000 chapters (exactly!) are available to the public in their pristine exactitude – in a single accessible volume suitable for every study need and accompanied by useful indexes in a friendly and beautiful design.
